Smart Motors attended the Wheel Detection Forum that took place in Vienna, from the 4th of October till the 6th of October. The Forum, organised by Frauscher, had an appealing programme with presentations on the last trends in wheel detection, Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) and tracking technology. We value the experience very much and appreciate the possibility to get to know other companies that are leaders in the condition-based maintenance industry.

Smart Motors together with TMB have reached an agreement to develop a new solution to monitor tracks geometry in critical points of the network using laser technology.

We have received the order from TMB to implement our new solution for rolling stock monitoring. At the end of the 5-years project, all Metro units will be visible on real time in the control center. During the project, Smart Motors will identify and develop new capabilities for this tool, adapted to the needs of TMB.

Hosted by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat, GTISET conference has been held in Barcelona, gathering different Spanish Railway Administrations technicians specialized in telecommunications, electrification and safety.

Coinciding with the installation of new optical CDX devices in the FGC network, Smart Motors had the opportunity to share with the attendees how this device was developed and the challenges it will face in the future.

During the 8th-11th of May Smart Motors has attended one of the most important fairs of the railway sector in the UK, taking place in Birmingham. The novelty of our solutions has attracted numerous attendees, from many different nationalities, interested in our solutions for monitoring and breakdown prediction. During the fair we have presented our latest solution for rolling stock monitoring, with applications for both operators and maintainers.

We have been commissioned to adapt our optical device for control blade gap monitoring, to a new motor, the Siemens S61. We are very satisfied with the welcome of the CDX and the versatility that it offers to be adapted to different manufacturers.

 

Continuing with the internationalization process, Smart Motors has tested its solution in a Siemens SURELOCK point machine for a European operator. We are gaining experience in monitoring different models of point machines.

 

Smart Motors has successfully started testing the solution for point machine monitoring in a SP-6M Point Machine in East Europe. This is a very interesting project for several reasons, including that our product must withstand extreme cold weather conditions.

Metro de Barcelona has entrusted us the maintenance of their network track circuits. The first stage of CIVI implementation has started, and 500 of them are already in operation. We hope we will get a valuable experience in track circuit monitoring.
